Seeing the Stork, written and acted by Lucy Bell Sellers, is a 45-minute one woman show about Out of Africa author, Isak Dineson. Her life in ruins, she has left Africa for good at age 46, and must build a new life in her childhood home in Denmark.

Students will work toward a final performance in front of an audience, thus incorporating all aspects of actor training: voice, movement, character development, rehearsal process, improv, scene work, monologue work, etc. The work environment will be safe and supportive with emphasis on individual growth and ensemble building. The final performance material will be either a short play, monologues or scenes, depending on the composition of the class. Suggested student age: 8-12.

Students will be taught the craft of acting through work on theatre exercises & games, improv, scenes and monologues. Emphasis will be on risk-taking in a supportive environment as character
development and scene study skills are experienced and learned. Working at their own pace, students will develop an understanding of emotional truth, communication, the playing of intentions, staying centered, working as an individual artist and within ensemble, and working "in the moment."

Commercials, Industrials & Film

Utilizing actual commercial and film copy in a supportive and creative environment, students will work on-camera with playback, as they learn the skill set required by the camera. The classwork will target character, types, reading & analyzing scripts, transitions, vocal quality, framing, improv, auditioning, working with props, etc.
