Van Gogh
Written
and performed by Joseph P. Kaknes, the play transports
us to Auvers-sur-Oise, France, a few days before the legendary artist
took his life. There, brush in hand he teaches his final lesson, one
where doomed love affairs, failed careers and a bottomless passion
lead to madness. From the first brush stroke to the final signature,
we bear witness to Van Gogh's tempestuous, sometimes violent, creative
style.
|

"...the
real show is watching Kaknes paint,
in a bold, reckless way that is itself
an homage to Van Gogh."
