Van Gogh
Written and performed by Joseph P. Kaknes, the play transports us to Auvers-sur-Oise, France, a few days before the legendary artist took his life. There, brush in hand he teaches his final lesson, one where doomed love affairs, failed careers and a bottomless passion lead to madness. From the first brush stroke to the final signature, we bear witness to Van Gogh's tempestuous, sometimes violent, creative style.

"...the real show is watching Kaknes paint,
in a bold, reckless way that is itself
an homage to Van Gogh."
-Boston Phoenix
